I went on a lovely jaunt to Scotland recently, and went to David Bann in Edinburgh. I’ve been to this restaurant before (in January) so knew I was in for a treat.
We had the full 3 courses, and it was wonderful! Click here to see the menu. I thought that the starter and main course sections had a good selection of vegan options.
The main course was such a brilliantly unusual combination. Bean chilli in a filo pastry tart topped with guacamole, with potato mash, parsnip puree and swede chips. I don’t think I would ever think to put these things together, but it was delicious.
This was really nice, but the dessert section of the food menu let this restaurant down a little bit. When I went to the restaurant in January, I had this exact dessert, and I did so because it was the only vegan option. So not only is there still only one vegan dessert option, but it is exactly the same as almost a year ago (I wonder if the other desserts have changed?). However, that’s not to say this wasn’t a nice dessert, because it was!
